Photobucket Backup is a simple and straightforward way of saving a backup copy of your media in your Photobucket account. It allows you to add specific images and videos or to back up entire folders. These folders will be given “hot folder” status automatically, saving you lots of time.
The first thing you need to do to make use of this straightforward application is to log in to your Photobucket account – otherwise, the program will simply not work. Then you can either configure your Auto Backup settings, or upload selected images and videos from various locations. On one hand, manual backup tasks follow very similar steps to those needed to upload new media to your Photobucket account, except for the fact that you can select not only individual files but also entire folders for uploading when using this tool. On the other hand, Auto Backup will not only allow you to bulk-upload as many folders as needed, but will also transform them into “hot folders” that the program will monitor for your automatically. Any new file thrown into any of those folders will be transferred to your Photobucket backup folder straight away.
This Photobucket tool does not add a great deal of functionality to what you can find in Photobucket already, but it does simplify the process of uploading and backing up large amounts of images and video files in your existing account. Only for this feature alone, this free utility is certainly a good add-on to your Photobucket account.
